SAN FRANCISCO — Adobe announced on June 25, 2026, its acquisition of AI imaging company Topaz Labs. Topaz Labs will operate as part of Adobe's creative business.

Adobe intends to integrate Topaz Labs' models into its Firefly AI application and other parts of its image and video editing suites. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026.

Topaz Labs develops AI models for video and image enhancement, and its Neurostream technology allows these AI models to run directly on consumer devices. In 2025, Topaz Labs received an Emmy Award for AI Image/Video Enhancement for High Quality TV Catalog Restoration. The company has existed for more than two decades, previously releasing models such as Astra for AI video upscaling and Wonder for image retouching and enhancement.

David Wadhwani, Adobe's president of creativity and productivity business, said, "Adobe Firefly, Firefly Services and Creative Cloud offer the industry's best creative tooling and top AI models for creators and brands, and we're excited to build on the strong demand for these products with Topaz Labs." He added, "Creators are creating more content by mixing captured and generated images and video, and with Topaz Labs we will give every creator the quality and control to easily produce that content at higher quality and resolution."

Deepa Subramaniam, VP of product marketing for Creative Cloud at Adobe, said, "Topaz Labs brings deep expertise in optimizing large, complex AI models to run directly on device, a capability that will allow Adobe to deliver faster, more responsive experiences for customers and make advanced AI more accessible and cost-effective for creatives. In addition, Topaz Labs is trusted by professionals of all creative crafts – from designers and video professionals to photographers and enterprise creative teams."

Eric Yang, CEO of Topaz Labs, will lead the Topaz team at Adobe. "Building technology to make images and videos look their absolute best has been our life's work for more than twenty years," Yang said. He added, "We've always believed that technology should serve human creativity rather than replace it — and so has Adobe."

Topaz Labs' offerings will continue to be available as stand-alone services through its website. The company has worked with creatives such as Asteria Film Co. and documentarian Robert Stone, and Adobe already includes some of Topaz Labs' tools within its Creative Cloud suite.
