Framework announced on June 25, 2026, that it has secured cheaper PCIe Gen 5 solid-state drives (SSDs) from its supplier, Adata. This development allows customers who ordered a Framework Laptop 13 Pro configuration with a 500GB SSD to receive a 1TB SSD at a lower price than initially planned for the 500GB option.

The company stated that new orders for the Laptop 13 Pro can now include configurations with either 1TB or 2TB SSDs onboard. Conversely, Framework has received indications of upcoming increases in CPU pricing. As a result, the company expects to adjust the overall system price for new orders of the Framework Laptop 13 Pro within the coming weeks.

Framework initially introduced the Laptop 13 Pro in April 2026 and had originally intended to commence shipping the first units in June 2026. However, the initial shipments for the Laptop 13 Pro were delayed to July 2026. The company cited issues related to the laptop's haptic touchpad and its custom display as reasons for this shipment delay.

Framework's CEO described the Laptop 13 Pro as the "MacBook Pro for Linux users."
