CHATTANOOGA — Thomas Williams, 31, was arrested in Chattanooga on Thursday, June 25, 2026, following a vehicle pursuit that resulted from an attempted traffic stop. The pursuit ended in a crash and led to the discovery of drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

An alert for a stolen vehicle was issued near the intersection of Campbell Street and Glass Street. A Chattanooga Police Department officer located the vehicle, and a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputy arrived to assist with a traffic stop attempt. Williams then fled the scene, prompting a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputy.

The pursuit concluded when the vehicle crashed in the 2300 block of East 5th Street. Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputies took Williams into custody at that location. Deputies searched the vehicle and seized 1 ounce of Methamphetamine, 7 ounces of Cocaine, one glass pipe, and $944 in cash.

Williams faces multiple charges including evading arrest, reckless endangerment, and theft of property. He is also charged with driving while in possession of Methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and drugs general category for resale. Williams was wanted on multiple warrants from the Hamilton County Criminal Court, the Hamilton County General Sessions Court, and the East Ridge Police Department at the time of his arrest.
