NEW YORK CITY — The film "Supergirl" had its world premiere in New York City on June 22, 2026. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on June 26, 2026.

Milly Alcock, who plays Kara Zor-El (Supergirl), attended the premiere. Nicholas Hoult, Rachel Brosnahan, and David Corenswet also attended the event. Craig Gillespie directed the film, and Ana Nogueira wrote the screenplay.

I saw this little girl on a bike with this sweater, and I was trying not to cry," Alcock said. She noted that no promotion for the film was out at the time, adding, "No, there was no promotion out. But I was just saw that and I was kind of like, 'Oh my god. Wow. This is, like young girls are gonna see this film, and that's gonna be so fulfilling.'"

Alcock previously appeared in the 2025 "Superman" movie. The cast of "Supergirl" includes Matthias Schoenaerts, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, David Corenswet, and Jason Momoa. Eve Ridley portrays the character Ruthye Marye Knoll in the film. In the story, Supergirl turns 23 and celebrates by flying around the galaxy with her dog, Krypto.
