JUPITER ISLAND, FLORIDA — Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a rollover crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, on March 27, 2026. The professional golfer was driving a dark Land Rover when the single-vehicle crash occurred just after 2 p.m.

Woods' SUV rolled onto its driver's side door after the vehicle clipped the back of a trailer being pulled by a truck. The truck driver said he saw Woods driving at high speeds before the Land Rover overtook his vehicle, swerved to avoid a crash, but struck the trailer. Woods climbed out of the vehicle through the window after it rolled.

No one was injured in the crash. Responding law enforcement officers suspected that Woods was impaired and arrested him at the crash scene. Woods submitted to a breath test but refused to submit to a urine test.

Woods told officers he had taken medication for prior injuries. He was taken to a local jail and charged with driving under the influence and refusing to take a test. A county sheriff is scheduled to speak with reporters at 5 p.m. ET about the crash.

Woods was arrested for driving under the influence in Florida in 2017. Woods checked himself into a clinic in 2017 for prescription medication following his DUI arrest.

In February 2021, Woods was injured in a rollover crash in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Woods suffered serious injuries in the 2021 crash. Authorities said Woods was driving at least twice the speed limit in a 45 mph zone when his 2021 SUV struck a tree, causing it to fly through the air and land on its side.

Officials said there were no signs of impairment in the 2021 crash, and Woods was not charged. Investigators were criticized for not obtaining a search warrant to collect Woods' blood samples after the 2021 crash. "I'm lucky to be alive and also have a limb," Tiger Woods said at the 2021 Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

"It was very fortunate that Mr. Woods was able to come out of this alive," Deputy Carlos Gonzalez said.

In 2009, Woods ran over a fire hydrant and crashed into a tree while driving an SUV. After the 2009 crash, Elin Nordegren used a golf club to break open the vehicle's windows while Woods was unconscious inside.
