LJUBLJANA — Slovenia's Intelligence and Security Agency confirmed foreign influence on last weekend's parliamentary election, according to a government statement. The agency presented concrete activities of a foreign para-intelligence agency and contacts with Slovenian entities to the National Security Council.

The evidence collected domestically and abroad has been handed over to law enforcement authorities, the prosecutor's office, and the police, according to the government statement.

On March 20, Josko Kadivik presented a full account of events from December 10 to 11, 2025, including material evidence linking three representatives of the private intelligence corporation Black Cube—Giora Eiland, Liron Tzur, and Dan Zorella—to a visit at Trstenjakova ulica 8 in Ljubljana, where the SDS party has its headquarters, according to a government statement. Kadivik presented findings that Black Cube's activities in Slovenia and abroad demonstrated counterintelligence operations against the Republic of Slovenia and foreign interference in Slovenian elections, according to the government statement.

Prime Minister Robert Golob urged the European Union to investigate the alleged foreign interference on the election. Janez Jansa acknowledged contacting an adviser from the Black Cube private intelligence agency and denied any wrongdoing.

Vojko Volk said that representatives of Black Cube visited Slovenia four times in recent months, including on a street in Ljubljana where the SDS party has its headquarters. Videos showing secretly recorded conversations in which people linked to the government boasted about their political connections were posted online during the campaign. Slovenian authorities have opened an investigation into the videos posted during the campaign.

"Black Cube is an intelligence firm which provides services exclusively to clients engaged in business activities worldwide, supporting litigations, arbitrations and white-collar crime cases. Black Cube obtains legal advice in every jurisdiction in which it operates to ensure legality of its activities," Black Cube wrote in an email.

"Corruption is a phenomenon that harms economies and impedes legitimate business activity. Black Cube will continue uncovering fraud, corruption and asset dissipation in all its cases globally as it has consistently done in the past 15 years," Black Cube wrote in an email.

The parliamentary election ended with no clear winner. With more than 99% of votes counted, the Freedom Movement won 29 seats in the 90-member assembly while the Slovenian Democratic Party won 28 seats.
