LONDON — Channel Nine TV presenter Karl Stefanovic posted a video of himself embracing UK activist Tommy Robinson in London on Tuesday morning Australian time. Robinson is set to appear on Stefanovic's podcast.

The video clip showed Stefanovic walking down a London street with his arm around Robinson. During the video, Robinson asked Stefanovic to complete the sentence: "Keir Starmer is a …." Stefanovic responded, "wanker."

Channel Nine declined to comment on the podcast. Stefanovic runs his podcast independently of Channel Nine, where he co-hosts the Today breakfast show and anchors major live news events. The network approved the podcast launch late last year in return for Stefanovic taking a pay cut. He reportedly earns $2.8 million at Channel Nine.

Robinson has been a prominent figure on the far right in the UK for approximately a decade. He has spearheaded recent nationalist demonstrations in the UK. Robinson previously shared graphic footage on social media of a Sudanese refugee alleged to have carried out a knife attack on a man in Belfast. His phones were seized by British police under counter-terrorism laws on his return from a trip to Russia, where he met Elon Musk's father. He was held for about three hours before being released.

Robinson has a criminal record, which includes convictions for violence, public order offenses, and financial and immigration fraud. He also has convictions for stalking and harassing journalists and has been twice convicted for contempt of court. Robinson was previously banned from entering the U.S. He visited the U.S. earlier this year and was hosted by the Trump administration during his visit. Stefanovic said, "People like Tommy Robinson."
