BELMONT, MICHIGAN — Miyu Yamashita won the Meijer LPGA Classic on June 21, 2026, at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan, after defeating Lottie Woad in a playoff. Yamashita finished the tournament with a score of 17-under 271.

Yamashita, a 24-year-old from Japan, made a birdie on the 18th hole in regulation to force the playoff. She shot an 8-under 64 in the final round, which included birdies on five of her first seven holes. She hit 17 of 18 greens in regulation during the final round. Yamashita said she did not expect the tournament to go to extra holes. "I honestly didn't expect it to end up in a playoff," she said.

The playoff took place on the par-5 18th hole. Yamashita made a birdie on the first playoff hole to secure the victory. She has previously won three LPGA Tour titles, including the 2025 AIG Women's British Open, and was the LPGA Rookie of the Year in 2025. She also has 13 wins on the JLPGA circuit. "It had like a score gap with the top to begin the day," Yamashita said through a translator.

Woad, a 22-year-old from England, also finished the tournament at 17-under. She missed a 3-foot par putt on the 18th hole in regulation, resulting in a bogey. Woad shot a 4-under 68 in the final round. "Felt pretty comfortable in the final group the last two days," Woad said. She also noted that she made a bunker shot for birdie on the par-4 17th hole. "Thought it was going a little bit past, so was happy with that," she said regarding her approach on 17. "Didn't have the easiest bunker shot and obviously made it," she added.

Woad won the Kroger Queen City Championship last month and the Scottish Open last summer. She was also the 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur champion. Reflecting on her missed putt, Woad said, "Felt like I hit an OK putt. Obviously, lipped out on the high side." She added, "Just kept myself in it. Made a lot of clutch putts this week, so I'm going to try and shake off this missed one." Woad also acknowledged her opponent's play, stating, "Yeah, Miyu played great in the playoff hole." She concluded by saying, "Hopefully next week is my week instead."

Wei-Ling Hsu and Yan Liu tied for third place at 15-under. Hsu and Liu both shot a 67 in the final round. Minji Kang and Cassie Porter tied for fifth place at 14-under. Kang shot a 66 in the final round, while Porter shot a 70. Jing Yan finished tied for seventh at 13-under after shooting a 73 in the final round. Riley Smyth shared 12th place and earned $51,880.
