PASADENA, TEXAS — A Pasadena Police Department SUV collided with a black Chrysler 300 on Sunday afternoon while responding to another major accident with emergency lights and sirens activated.

The incident occurred around 2:59 p.m. on southbound Red Bluff Road as the police vehicle approached Beltway 8, Pasadena PD officials said. Investigators stated that the police vehicle was struck by a northbound vehicle traveling in the third lane while traffic in the area had stopped. The first responding unit had cleared the intersection before the second police vehicle was struck.

Authorities reported no major injuries in connection with the collision. Two people who were inside the civilian vehicle were transported as a precaution, and officials described their injuries as bumps and bruises. The officer involved in the crash was completing an injury report and was undergoing evaluation.
