DUXBURY, MASSACHUSETTS — Lindsay Clancy, a 35-year-old former nurse, pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder and strangulation. The charges stem from the deaths of her three children, 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan. Prosecutors allege that Clancy strangled the children with elastic exercise bands on January 24, 2023, at a residence on Summer Street in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Following the deaths of the children, Clancy allegedly severed her own neck and wrists before jumping from a second-story window. She survived the fall but sustained injuries that left her paralyzed. Clancy is currently receiving medical treatment at Tewksbury Hospital while she awaits trial.

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington plans to argue that Clancy should be found not guilty by reason of insanity. The defense alleges that Clancy was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis and was overmedicated at the time of the incident. "I wouldn't want anyone to have to be in there to look at gruesome photographs of little babies, slaughtered, and cut up and butchered in autopsy photos. No. But that's what they want to do, and we will make a decision if she is going to have to get through it." Reddington said.

Patrick Clancy, the defendant's spouse, discovered the children upon returning home and made a 911 call. During the call, he stated, "She killed the kids!" Clancy is expected to testify as a prosecution witness during the trial and will be subject to cross-examination. A judge has approved a prosecution request to play the 911 audio recording during the trial.

In other court rulings, a judge approved prosecutorial motions to admit autopsy photographs of the three children into evidence for the trial. Additionally, a motion was granted allowing jurors to conduct a walk-through of the Duxbury residence. Clancy's parents, Michael and Paula Musgrove, and her sister, Allison Ozga, may attend all scheduled trial proceedings. Jury selection for the case is scheduled to begin on July 20.
