YORK, PENNSYLVANIA — The York Revolution forfeited its scheduled contest against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on June 18. This forfeiture occurred after several athletes declined to wear scheduled Pride Night uniforms featuring rainbow sleeves.

The June 18 contest was designated as the organization's 11th Annual Pride Night. Revolution team management stated, "Unfortunately, several of our players have refused to wear the scheduled Pride Night jersey and the club decided that hosting the event is more important than forcing players to wear jerseys they are not comfortable with and playing the game."

Officials stated the decision was not reached lightly. The club added, "We feel that this is the best way to stay consistent with our long-standing partnerships with the Rainbow Rose Center, JLS Automation and the long list of allies that have always been key partners of the York Revolution's success in York, Pennsylvania."

Pride Night community programming proceeded at WellSpan Park from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday. The club will donate $10,000 to the Rainbow Rose Center. Management described this financial contribution as an expression of regret regarding the schedule alteration and support for LGBTQIA+ community partners.

Admission tickets for the June 18 contest will be honored as rainouts and may be exchanged for any 2026 regular-season home contest. The organization plans to resume home competition on June 19. Both the Revolution and the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs compete in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, which operates independently of Major League Baseball affiliations.

No independent assessment of York Revolution’s claims was available.
