LONDON — Prince Harry and Meghan plan to visit the U.K. next month with their two children. Harry intends to attend an event promoting the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

He founded the Invictus Games more than ten years ago. The competition is a sporting event for wounded military personnel scheduled to take place in Birmingham in 2027. During the upcoming trip, he also plans to visit patronages including WellChild and Scotty's Little Soldiers.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet last visited the U.K. in 2022 during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. King Charles III has not seen his grandchildren in person since 2022. Harry met the King at Clarence House in London last September, which marked their first face-to-face conversation since February 2024.

Harry left the U.K. for North America in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties. He traveled to the U.K. in 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral and in 2023 for King Charles III's coronation. He and Meghan reside in Montecito, California.

Harry previously stated that traveling to the U.K. without police protection was unsafe for his family. He lost a legal proceeding against the Home Office last year regarding automatic police protection for U.K. visits. He has received a full risk assessment and is awaiting a final security decision from the royal and VIP executive committee. He has received assurances that adequate security measures will be implemented for his upcoming visit.

No independent assessment of Prince Harry’s claims was available.
