NEW YORK CITY — Wu-Tang Clan performed during the halftime performance for Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks led the best-of-seven series 2-1 against the Spurs.
The group performed the songs "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing ta F' Wit" and "Method Man." Method Man, a member of the group, stated "Knicks in 5." Game 4 of the NBA Finals had a scheduled tip-off time of 8:30 p.m. ET.
A number of celebrities attended the NBA Finals games, including Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, Spike Lee, Jay-Z, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Larry David, Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni, Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, and Robert Kraft. President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also attended the games.
The group formed in Staten Island in 1992. Its current members are RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, and Young Dirty Bastard, the son of founding member Ol' Dirty Bastard. The group is currently on a break from a farewell concert tour, titled Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber. All performing members appeared together at Madison Square Garden in July.
The Knicks advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years. They previously played the Spurs in the 1999 NBA Finals, losing the series 4-1. The Knicks won their last NBA championship in 1973. The group performed in Europe and Oceania in March and in Japan the month prior to the Game 4 performance.
