NEW YORK — The T1 Phone, officially designated as the T1 Phone 8002, was announced on June 16, 2025. One year after its announcement, the device has not been shipped to customers.
Initial marketing materials for the T1 Phone claimed it would be designed and manufactured in the United States. The device was advertised at a retail price of $499 and required a $100 preorder deposit. Less than two weeks after launch, company representatives updated the marketing website to describe the device as proudly American.
The company currently states that the T1 Phone is assembled in Miami from approximately ten pre-manufactured parts. Federal Trade Commission guidelines require all or virtually all of a product's components to be manufactured domestically for it to be marketed as made in the United States.
Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump held a launch press conference for the T1 Phone at Trump Tower in New York. They were joined by three company executives. The press conference focused on subscriber benefits, which included international texting, roadside assistance, and telemedicine appointments, rather than hardware details.
The initial technical specifications for the T1 Phone incorrectly listed the battery capacity as a long life camera. The advertised display size was subsequently revised from 6.78 inches to 6.25 inches. A Trump Organization press release continues to state that the T1 Phone is a gold smartphone engineered for performance and designed and built in the United States. In February 2026, company executives Don Hendrickson and Eric Thomas responded to inquiries following months of prior communications.
No independent assessment of T1 Phone’s claims was available.
