LE MANS — Toyota won the 2026 Le Mans 24-hour endurance race on June 14, 2026, ending Ferrari's three-year winning streak. The win marked Toyota's sixth overall victory at the event.
The winning No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid was piloted by drivers Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries. The race, which began on June 13 and concluded 24 hours later, took place at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France.
During the early morning stage of the race, the No. 7 Toyota was running in fourth place before a driver change. A safety car deployment occurred with six hours remaining in the event. Following this period, Kamui Kobayashi drove multiple fast laps that moved the No. 7 Toyota into first position.
Mike Conway said, "Even in the first couple of hours we thought it wasn't looking good. We just stuck in there."
The No. 20 BMW M Team WRT, driven by Sheldon van der Linde, Robin Frijns, and Rene Rast, secured second place. The No. 8 Toyota crew, consisting of Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa, finished in third. The No. 12 Cadillac Hertz Team Jota, driven by Louis Deletraz, Will Stevens, and Norman Nato, finished fourth.
Other incidents during the race included a collision between GT3-class drivers Francesco Castellacci and Giammarco Levorato at the eight-hour mark, which prompted a safety car deployment. Earlier, Daniel Schneider crashed the #222 United Autosports Oreca at the final chicane during the third practice session, causing extensive front-left damage. The #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 collided with the #3 DKR Engineering LMP2 car, resulting in bodywork damage and leaving the BMW four laps off the lead pace. Dries Vanthoor recorded a lap time of 3 minutes and 23.302 seconds in the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 during the third practice session. Earl Bamber set the fastest lap time of the race prior to the eighth hour.
In other categories, Inter Europol won the LMP2 class with drivers Tom Dillmann, Jakub Smiechowski, and Nick Yelloly. Racing Team Turkey by TF Sport won the LMGT3 class with drivers Nicky Catsburg, Jonny Edgar, and Ben Keating, who drove a Corvette.
