CHATTANOOGA — The Tennessee Department of Transportation will conduct concrete pavement repairs on I-24 East near mile marker 182. These repairs will include temporary lane closures over two weekends, with work scheduled from Friday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 6 a.m. each weekend.

The second planned closure period runs from Friday, June 19, at 8 p.m. to Monday, June 22, at 6 a.m. During this time, two right lanes will close from Friday night until approximately noon on Saturday, leaving a single lane open for traffic. One of these closed lanes will reopen around Saturday noon and remain open until Sunday noon to allow for concrete curing.

All lanes are expected to reopen early Sunday afternoon each weekend. The schedule for these repairs is dependent on weather conditions and may be rescheduled if inclement weather occurs. Drivers are required to move over for highway workers and emergency vehicles under Tennessee's Move Over Law. Violation of this law can result in up to 30 days of jail time and a fine of up to $500.
