HOUSTON — Nahidah Hussein was charged with practicing medicine without a license or permit, causing harm, a felony offense, after allegedly performing an unauthorized lip filler procedure at Pink Beauty Med Spa in Houston on February 19, 2026. Court records state the procedure led to an infection in the patient, resulting in physical harm and approximately $1,400 in financial losses.
Hussein was arrested on Monday and appeared before a judge on Tuesday. By Tuesday afternoon, court records showed she had bonded out. She is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday.
As part of her bond conditions, prosecutors requested that Hussein have no contact with the complainant or members of the complainant’s household while the case is pending. They also asked that she be prohibited from performing medical procedures or providing medical services without proper licensing or medical oversight, and that she not return to Pink Beauty Med Spa during the proceedings.
State records indicate Hussein is licensed as a dental assistant. Ammar Hussein, who identified himself as her brother, said she was still in jail on Tuesday and confirmed she was a dental assistant.
Family members said they were unaware of the allegations until Nahidah Hussein didn’t come home after work on Monday and initially called police thinking she was missing. Emily Lopez, a nail technician who works nearby, said, “There were like six cops in here for like a whole hour, and outside there were cops in there too.”
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office said it is not currently seeking additional victims to come forward.
