NORTHEAST FLORIDA — A cold front moving into Northeast Florida is expected to bring heavy rain and storms near and south of Interstate 10 on Tuesday. Storms are developing and moving into the region in the evening, with a few potentially lingering past sunset.
Monday brings the next chance for storms, with rain focused inland. The sea breeze will move in during the day, so rain is not ruled out for the Jacksonville Metro area. Forecasters predict partly to mostly sunny and hot conditions with a high of 91 degrees, along with a few storms.
Tuesday is expected to be wetter and stormier than Monday as the cold front arrives from the northeast. Rain and storms will develop along the front, with the heaviest activity concentrated near and south of Interstate 10. Skies will be partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 73 to 89 degrees.
Behind the cold front, slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity will take hold. The forecast for Wednesday includes partly sunny and breezy conditions with an isolated shower and temperatures from 70 to 83 degrees. By Thursday, conditions will be mostly sunny with temperatures ranging from 65 to 83 degrees.
The pattern continues into the weekend with dry and warm weather. Friday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and temperatures from 66 to 85 degrees. Saturday will see partly sunny skies with temperatures ranging from 66 to 88 degrees. Sunday is expected to bring partly cloudy skies and temperatures ranging from 67 to 89 degrees.
Tonight’s forecast includes a lingering shower or storm, partly cloudy skies, and a low of 73 degrees.
